Motorola at the CTIA expo has unveiled a flurry of new smartphones targeting right from the business user to a casual one. The phones announced are Bravo, Citrus, Flipside, Spice and Droid Pro and are powered by Google’s Android OS.

Bravo is a compact smartphone running Android 2.1 OS with Motorola’s customized UI aka Motoblur. The sleek and lightweight Bravo features a 3.7-inch FWVGA (480×854) touchscreen display, 3G support, Bluetooth, DLNA, FM Radio, 3MP autofocus camera, 3.5mm headphone jack, aGPS, eCompass, 512MB internal memory, up to 32GB microSD card slot and 1540mAh battery. Bravo will be available on AT&T by end of this year.

Next up is Citrus that is meant for Verizon Wireless subscribers. Android 2.1 running Citrus is not only packed with features but also boasts environment-friendly features. The phone’s housing is made from 25 percent post-consumer recycled plastic, is PVR/BFR free and is packaged in an eco-friendly box. Its specs includes EV-DO Rev 0 support, a 3-inch QVGA capacitive touchscreen display, 3MP fixed focus camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and microSD card slot. Will be available in Q4 this year in North America.

Motorola also announced Flipside featuring a horizontal-QWERTY slider phone and a large trackpad. I’m not sure how good that trackpad looks in person but it could come in handy while surfing on its HTML webkit browser. The AT&T-bound phone runs Android 2.1 and includes a 3.1-inch HVGA display with enhanced Motoblur UI, HSDPA support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3MP camera, FM Radio, GPS, 512MB ROM and microSD card slot. Flipside will sell in select regions this year.

Motorola Spice is yet another sliding QWERTY phone but takes a different approach by making it slide vertically. Similar to Citrus, Spice is also created from 25 percent post-consumer recycled plastic and includes similar features except for the inclusion of Backtrack. Running Android 2.1, the phone has a 3-inch QVGA screen, 3.6Mbps HSDPA, 3MP camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and microSD card slot. Spice will also sell by end of this year.

Finally, it’s the Droid Pro, which seems to be a direct competitor of the reigning candybar-style Blackberries. Droid Pro is packed with features like a speedy 1GHz processor, Android 2.2 OS, GSM/CDMA support, 3.1-inch HVGA screen, 5MP camera with dual-LED flash, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 8GB flash storage, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD card slot. Droid Pro will arrive on Verizon Wireless in Q4 2010.

Well, head quickly to the teardown experts, iFixit who’ve have published the Droid 2 teardown. iFixit says although there are subtle differences as far as exterior is concerned, but main difference that counts is its hardware. The new Droid 2 packs in a fast 1GHz TI OMAP 3630 chip along with TI WL1271B Bluetooth/Wi-Fi/FM module that gives Droid 2 the power of Wi-Fi 802.11n.

Also, the same battery found in original Droid gives up to 49 percent of talk time more, which suggests that Motorola has done some serious optimization.
