LG has unveiled a new AIO computer that utilizes its Film-type Patterned Retarder (FPR) display. Use of FPR displays on the V300 means, consumers will be able to watch 3D content without any flicker or eye strain, which is somewhat common in other 3D technologies. Additionally, the display boasts an In Plane Switch (IPS) screen panel that creates a 178-degree viewing angle.

LG has developed this machine in collaboration with Intel and is currently showcasing at Computex in Taiwan. The 23-inch computer is powered by Intel’s 2nd Gen Core i3, i5 or i7 processors and supports up to 8GB of RAM, up to 750GB HDD, AMD Radeon HD 6650M GPU, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 5-in-1 card reader, HD Audio, HD 720p webcam, USB2.0/USB3.0/HDMI/eSATA ports and Intel Wi-Di support.

The V300 PC will be launched in South Korea in July and will be followed by markets in Europe, Asia and Middle East.

Asus has combined a smartphone and tablet into one with the introduction of Padfone. The Taiwanese company announced Padfone earlier today at the Computex expo, which converges the phone and the tablet into one.

Both the tablet as well as the smartphone stand out on their own but dock in the 4-inch smartphone behind the tablet and it transforms the 10-inch screen into a fully blown 3G tablet. In addition to giving 3G capabilities to the tablet, the tablet charges the docked phone via its larger battery and also helps users to view content on their phone on a larger screen.

Asus says, the layout of both the devices is automatically adjusted for all activities such as video conferencing, web browsing and emailing.

The idea sounds intriguing but there are of course, some lingering questions like tablet’s dependency on the phone to work or can a user buy the phone or tablet only etc.

Needless to say, we’ll have all our queries answered soon but for now, images is what you’ll have to suffice with.

The notebooks use SiBEAM’s integrated advanced wireless video network chips on display mini-card (DMC) modules that help to enjoy HD video or gaming on a larger screen wirelessly. Moreover, by operating under the 60Hz frequency, the SiBEAM wirelessHD will not face any interference from other wireless frequencies that are used by Wi-Fi, cordless phones etc.

The notebooks will be available in Fall this year but are being demonstrated at Computex expo.

Hitachi-LG Data Storage (HLDS) has unveiled an interesting product at the Computex in Taipei. The HyDrive is basically an optical drive (DVD or Blu-ray) but comes with an embedded SSD storage, thus giving the advantages of SSD without taking up additional space.

The current-gen HyDrive is expected in August this year where South Korea-based MONEUAL will integrate it in their upcoming computers. As for the intrinsic SSD details, it comes in capacities of 32 and 64GB and supports SATA 3Gbps interface.

The second-gen HyDrive is scheduled for a March 2011 launch and it will be available globally. The new generation will expectedly, give the drive a bump in specs. It will come in capacities to up to 256GB and adopt SATA 6Gbps interface.

HLDS is confident their HyDrives will find a way to tablet PCs and netbooks because HyDrive can vacant the HDD or SSD space and give users a way to insert optical media while SSD acting as a primary storage.

Asus’ pre-Computex press conference also revealed an Eee Tablet, which is a bit different than the Eee Pads we saw earlier today. The Eee Tablet is more of an e-book reader with excellent note taking abilities. In fact, with 2450dpi touch resolution screen, Asus claims it to be one of the world’s most accurate and sensitive digital note taking devices that gives a feeling to write on a real piece of paper.

Users can take down notes quickly with the built-in notepad templates or click pictures on the 2 megapixel camera and annotate the image. Furthermore, the tablet will sync the data with the PC to ensure safety of data. The Eee Tablet has a USB port, microSD card slot, multimedia player and a 10-hour battery life.

Asus has unveiled their first slate devices at the Computex 2010. It’s dubbed as Eee Pad and will try to take on the iPad with two variants. First is the 12-inch Eee Pad EP121 that is a pure “slate computer” with an ULV Intel Core 2 Duo CPU and runs Windows 7 Home Premium OS. Having Windows 7 onboard means you get the freedom to do anything you want just like a real computer with the touch interface. It brings in e-reader functionality, video conferencing with integrated webcam and a 10 hour battery life.

The second Eee Pad to be revealed is a 10-inch Eee Pad EP101TC that won’t give you full functionality like its 12-inch sibling but brings in the limited Windows experience with Windows Embedded Compact 7.

MSI’s pre-Computex showcase has officially begun and they’re wooing the crowd with two new 10-inch tablet PCs. First is the WindPad 100 that runs Windows 7 OS on an Intel processor. Intel’s Atom Z530 CPU is the heart of the device and includes features like a webcam, USB and an HDMI port. The tablet was also running a customized UI which is known as Wind Touch UI. Remaining specs are unknown at the moment but will reach the market later this year for price of around $499.

Next up is the WindPad 110 tablet. Though MSI didn’t give it an official acknowledgement, the tablet was showcased during the press conference. The only things known about this tablet is that will run Android OS and sport a Tegra 2 processor.
