<p>Expectedly, Google gave the first glimpse of its Chrome OS at the Google HQ yesterday. Sundar Pichai gave a quick demo of the OS and it does look promising. The OS, which is nothing but a browser boots in 7 seconds and enables to do most of the things like checking e-mail, chat, edit office files, social networking and more within the browser via dedicated apps. <p>Google Chrome OS will be available to consumers by end of next year but if you want to try out the OS now, they’ve open-sourced the project as <a href="http://www.chromium.org/chromium-os" target="_blank">Chromium OS</a>. Developers can check through the code and compile it to make it work or if you want to make it work without doing any packaging, here’s a nifty tutorial from <a href="http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/11/19/guide-install-google-chrome-os/" target="_blank">Techcrunch</a> to run on VirtualBox.</p>
