LG’s slender and tall BL40 Chocolate phone will soon grace the Indian retail stores. Hailing from the Black Label Series, the phone is not as feature packed as the Christmas Edition but is interesting nonetheless. The phones spec sheet includes a large 4-inch scratch resistant LCD (800×345) with an aspect ratio of 21:9, S-Class UI, 5MP Schneider-Kreuznach lens, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth, DLNA, DivX support, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, TV out, 1GB internal memory and microSD card slot.

The phone will sell for Rs. 30,000.

LG has officially tagged BL40 as the successor of Chocolate phone. Today’s announcement confirm some specs which we have already known. The Black Label Series phone will sport a 4-inch HD LCD (Real VGA) screen that has an aspect ratio of 21:9, resolution of 800×345 pixels and offers more crisp, true-to-life colors. In addition to this, it has an S-Class UI supporting Dual Screen function that allow to view two different types of content simultaneously and 5 megapixel Schneider-Kreuznach lens.

The phone will first arrive in Europe in September after which will be released in Korea, Asia and Latin America.

More pictures of LG’s BL40 phone have surfaced and needless to say, it does look like a big Chocolate bar. The Sina reporter does not give a full hands-on impression but regurgitates the same specs we have known before.

The phone boasts a 4-inch 21:9 touchscreen display, S-Class UI, 5MP Schneider-Kreuznach lens, FM transmitter, Wi-Fi, 335MB internal memory and microSD card slot.

It is expected to be announced in August.

The source who brought us the BL40 pictures in the morning today posted few more pictures of another device called as the BL42. According to him, it’s the second-generation Chocolate phone and features UMTS support, about 150MB internal memory, 5MP Schneider-Kreuznach lens, flash support and micro-USB connector.

His claim in fact, puts up an interesting question. Is BL42, the real successor of Chocolate or BL40, which he refers to as ‘White’? We don’t know but maybe LG will officially clear the smoke when they reveal the full deets in August.

One sincere suggestion to LG. Get this thing out already otherwise the features will leak out in bits with nothing left for LG to show except for the press pictures. The Chocolate 2 or BL40 pictures were posted in a German forum and boy, this phone looks tall and sexy just like the supermodels.

In the specs department, it’s the same thing we have known before: 4-inch 21:9 aspect ratio touchscreen (800×345), S-Class UI, UMTS/HSDPA, 5MP Schneider-Kreuznach lens, camera flash, Wi-Fi, FM transmitter, 355MB internal memory, microSD card slot and something as position sensor (whatever that means).

The legitimacy of the video can be questioned but the fact that the promo is nicely touched up and also the specs match the XML sheet, the promo could be the real deal leaked by some loose hands. The video intros Black Label 40 (BL40) and shows up some meaty specs like wide 4-inch touchscreen (21:9 aspect ratio and 800×345 resolution) with tempered glass scratch protection, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, Wi-Fi, some type of Active Flash UI, A-GPS and an unspecified camera which we presume to be at least 5MP.

Just yesterday we were talking about the next LG Black Label phone and today they have semi-confirmed it. LG’s playing coy to share the phone details but has confirmed that it will be known as the new Chocolate, making it the fourth phone from the Black Label Series. The claim that “the new Chocolate will be a disruptive force in conventional mobile screens in an effort to maximize usability,” hints at a possible 21:9 screen.

It was just last week when a LG executive confirmed a new phone under the Black Label Series and today we have got an XML profile that possibly hints about the same phone.

The profile discovered by Tweakers, says that the new phone will be known (at least in LG labs) as BL40 or Black Label 40. The phone will expectedly run S-Class UI, have Obigo browser and can access internet via GPRS, UMTS and HSDPA.

Other things to be listed is the screen resolution and aspect ratio that will be 800×345 pixels and 21:9 respectively. Interestingly, it’s the aspect ratio that is eye-catching because till now only Philips has attempted to make a device integrating the same aspect ratio.

The new Black Label is expected in the last quarter of this year.
