Smoking is injurious to a human’s health and now according to Apple, it is injurious to your Apple machine too, enough to void the Applecare warranty.

A US blog, Consumerist received two different reports from readers claiming they’ve been denied repair of their Apple products (one Macbook and an iMac) despite being under the Applecare warranty period. When questioned, Apple employee said “the computer is beyond economical repair due to tar from cigarette smoke.”

Applecare terms of service fails to mention this fact but presence of tar in your Apple product is apparently unsafe for workers and thus, a OSHA violation.
