Honestly, we heard murmurings of a larger-sized iPhone long before iPhone 4S was a reality and now we’re hearing it again for the next-generation iPhone, courtesy Wall Street Journal. According to their sources, Apple has started procuring larger-sized display panels, believed to be at least 4-inches in size for their upcoming iPhone.

Understandably, Apple declined to comment on the rumor but an iPhone with larger display and Retina Display makes sense since majority of smartphones now boast a display more than 4-inches.

At the BlackBerry World, RIM revealed details regarding its upcoming OS – BlackBerry 10. RIM says BlackBerry 10 has been built “on the core values and exceptional user experiences that have attracted more than 77 million BlackBerry customers” and is emphasizing on gestures that will allow users to multitask quickly and efficiently.

BlackBerry is known for its physical QWERTY keyboards but interestingly, the BlackBerry 10 concentrates more on the touchscreen front. However, this does not mean RIM will adopt a similar strategy to HTC’s.

RIM also introduced a BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device and as is evident, this prototype device sports a 4.2-inch (1280×768) touchscreen display, micro-HDMI support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microSIM support.

UPDATE: LG has released an official statement to Pocket-Lint. The company has come down strongly on Korea Herald saying they’re showing their “speculative side again.” None of it is true and will focus on Android because “that’s where the demand is.”

Seems like trouble in Windows Phone land. An LG Electronics official confirmed to Korea Herald that the company is not planning to launch Windows Phone devices in the future because of the low demand of the Microsoft OS globally.

“The total unit of Windows Phone sold in the global market is not a meaningful figure,” said the LG spokesperson.

Interestingly, LG is planning to focus more on Android devices since the Google OS is the only operating system that has managed to stand against the force of Apple’s iOS.
