Epson India has announced a powerful photo scanner for those who seek more than the mere scanning ability, often found in all-in-one printers and entry-level scanners. The Perfection V600 scanning solution is equipped with the highest optical resolution of 6400×9600 dpi giving users unmatched scanned output with 48-bit color depth. The scanner also boasts couple of nifty technologies like ReadyScan LED that initiates the scanner quickly without the need to warm up the LED lamp and Digital ICE (Image Correction Engine) that with the help of hardware and software processes automagically removes dust and scratch from the scans.

The Perfection V600 scanner is available now for Rs. 16,999.

There have been couple of rumors in the past indicating the inevitable and the new rumor nails it, though unofficially. The new catalogue ad of Meijer reveals the supposedly new price of Xbox 360 Elite. Also, since its been priced at what the Pro SKU currently sells, we can deem that the Pro will rest in peace soon. A new rumor surfaced yesterday claiming Sony Ericsson to be preparing a Smartbook. The claim comes from a Taiwanese source who says Sony Ericsson is preparing the device and will “enter the market soon”. However, as far as specs are concerned the source doesn’t seem to be sure to tell if it will be based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon or any other non-x86 paltform.

Let’s just hope this is real and Sony Ericsson releases it with the plethora of smartbooks expected later this year.

It’s second half of 2009 and as anticipated, Bell has set the Canadian release date of Pre. Come August 27, Canadians will be able to buy the first webOS device for a considerable $199.95. This of course, comes with a three-year contract but Bell will be selling no-contract Pres too, which will cost $599.95.

Bell is currently taking pre-orders online, at Bell stores and at select retail partners.

Acer’s subsidiary brand Gateway has announced a new netbook. The LT2000 is another netbook with customary specs but differentiates itself with its price. The LT2000 goes for $299.99 and features a 10.1-inch WSVGA display, 1.6GHz Atom processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Windows XP Home OS, Wi-Fi and a 3-cell battery.

Nokia’s TIPA awarded 8MP snapper phone will soon reach the American shores. Nokia USA has confirmed that they’ll be selling N86 in the “coming weeks”. The price set for an unlocked unit is $558 and will be available through online or in Nokia Flagship Stores.

In addition to the decent camera capabilities, the N86 comes with a 2.6-inch AMOLED screen, dual-way sliding support, 8GB internal memory, integrated kickstand, T-Out, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, N-gage support and much more.

Amazon has lowered the price of its smaller version of Kindle. The 6-inch e-book reader that was previously selling at $359 will now sell for $299. The unexpected price cut is attributed to the competitors who are selling their respective e-book readers for less than the $300.

The Kindle 2 was launched early this year and boasts features like a 6-inch e-paper display, 2GB internal memory, WhisperSync, integrated dictionary and text-to-speech function.
