Google has confirmed that they’ve released the source code of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The source code available for download on Google’s AOSP page contains the Android 4.0.1 build which will ship with Galaxy Nexus.

The code release is definitely good news for devs who can tinker around the code to produce some excellent custom ROMs for other devices.
