Panasonic unveils first Toughpad tablet running Android OS

Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1

 

One thing that was missing from the wide variety of Android tablets was a rugged model and who better then Panasonic can come with a rough-and-tough offering. Panasonic has introduced a new Toughpad line which consists of FZ-A1 that runs Android 3.2 OS.

As with other Toughbook products, the A1 too is meant for outdoor purposes. The 10.1-inch tablet is certified with MIL-STD-810G standard for drops up to 120cm and IP65 rating for protection against dust and water.

On the hardware side, the FZ-A1 is powered by a 1.2GHz dual Marvell processor, 1GB RAM, 500 nits of display brightness, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, optional 3G, encryption, microSD card slot, micro HDMI, 5MP rear and 2Mp front camera and 10 hours of battery life.

Panasonic will also add a 7-inch Toughpad model in the second half of next year.
