Sony Digital Binoculars

Who said binoculars are only for watching distant objects closely? What if we could capture them as well? Well, Sony today has announced the world’s first digital binoculars that allow users to record a video and that too in full HD resolution. The DEV-3 and DEV-5 binoculars record HD video in AVHCD 2.0 format and integrates electronic autofocus so that the moving subject is in focus all the time.

Both binoculars are powered by Exmor R CMOS sensor and BIONZ processor and features 3D recording support, Optical SteadyShot, integrated GPS, HDMI and a stealth design.

The DEV-3 and DEV-5 binoculars will be available from November 2011 for $1400 and $2000 respectively.
