Just like Microsoft trying to push Kinect to researchers, Sony also announced a similar offering for researchers, students and hobbyists. The Move.Me software server application will allow users to create new software apps that use PlayStation Move as an input device.

Move.Me will provide users with high-level tracking data that can be exported to PC or any other device (provided it can connect to PS3) and will allow them to create innovative applications for PC.

Sony says PS3 SDK or licensing agreement is not required when Move.Me will be available for download this spring. Sony has also initiated an early-seeding program that will give few individuals an early access to Move.Me.
