First Developer Preview of Mac OS X Lion now available

Apple is offering first glimpse of its upcoming Mac OS X Lion to developers. Developers enrolled in the Mac Developers Program can download the new OS through the Mac App Store that is claimed to be inspired from Apple’s iPad.

The Lion OS brings in a lot of new features to the Mac OS but few features that stand out from the crowd are

Mission Control: This feature gives a unified view of all running apps and windows on the Mac. It includes the next generation of Expose that shows all opened windows, thumbnails of full screen apps etc.

Launchpad: Lists all the apps in full-screen making it easy to find and launch the app.

AirDrop: Allows Mac user to wirelessly copy a file from another without any setup

Other interesting features include new version of Mail, Versions, Resume, Auto Save and File Vault.
