Unmarried girls forbidden from using mobile phones

So you think banning DSLR cameras in Kuwait was one of the absurd bans? Well a village by the name of Lank in India has passed a veto against the usage of mobile phones by unmarried girls. The ban is implemented as a step they believe would prevent young girls from absconding with their lovers.
Members of the village panchayat passed the order after discussing how mobile phone usage affects youngsters in a “bad way”. To add, panchayat spokesman Rajender Malick said, “The panchayat has imposed a ban on the usage of mobile phones by unmarried girls to prevent them from eloping with young boys against the wishes of their parents.”
