Samsung Galaxy Player 50 (YP-G50)

Samsung has strengthened its portable media player offering with the introduction of Galaxy Player 50 (YP-G50). The Galaxy Player 50 is not the same as previously leaked YP-MB2 but has decent specs for those looking for an Android-based PMP.

The player runs on Android 2.1 OS and features a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, Wi-Fi 802.11n, a 2 megapixel camera, DivX support, SoundAlive audio enhancing technology, DLNA, 8 and 16GB internal memory, ThinkFree Office suite, Android market access and a microSD card slot, enabling further storage to up to 32GB.

The PMP is expected in October for 229 Euros (8GB) and 299 Euros (16GB).

  1. YP-G50 is a Google certified device from Google Android. Therefore, this will be the first MP3 player to freely use the Android Market. So far, you were not able to use the Android Market in other Android MP3 Players.

  2. so far Android Market works very good on this player. but i dont understand why it is not in store yet? Hmm… so far it is one of the first Android-based players and I am sure they have a big future!!!
