Nintendo announces price cut for DSi and DSi XL

Nintendo USA has confirmed to cut the prices of its DSi and DSi XL portable gaming consoles. Effective from September 12, the larger-screen DSi XL will go for $169.99, DSi for $149.99 and DS Lite at the same price of $129.99.
The DS family is the largest selling handheld console that has sold over 42.3 million units in US and boasts a portfolio of about 1,500 games.
Nintendo’s decision to drop the price could be due to the arrival of Nintendo 3DS which could have a holiday launch.
