Motorola and Research in Motion have announced to enter into a Settlement and License Agreement that ends any ongoing litigations between both the companies and allows them to share licenses of various patent rights of common technologies like 2G, 3G, 4G, 802.11 and wireless email.

Furthermore, RIM has also agreed to pay an up-front payment and royalties to Motorola.
