Bloomberg is citing “three people familiar with the situation” that claims Palm has put itself on sale. Palm is working with Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Qatalyst Partners who’re trying to find a buyer and will seek bids starting this week.

Dell is claimed to take a look but decided to drop out from the offer whereas Taiwan’s HTC and China’s Lenovo are highly interested.

Palm’s desperate attempts to resurrect themselves have failed miserably. Palm unveiled Pre last year at CES and despite showing some potential in the hardware as well as webOS, the phone failed to capture the desired market share. The phone’s launched after Pre shared the same fate.
