India sets April 9 as the 3G Auction date

Well, the date is set and hopefully it won’t budge this time. Government has fixed April 9 as the auction date for the 3G spectrum whereas the auction for BWA (broadband wireless access) spectrum, including WiMax will take place two days after the 3G auction.

As we said yesterday, the NIA was supposed to be issued this week and it seems tomorrow is the day. The last day for submitting applications is March 19.

There will be four slots auctioned in each service area with the fifth slot going to government-owned BSNL and MTNL, who already offer 3G services.
