Nokia is undoubtedly the leader in the Indian mobile market and the fact that majority of their sales comes from low-end phones, this reported development is not surprising at all.

As a Nokia Life Tools initiative for the rural India, they’re planning to launch phones priced ranging from Rs. 500 (roughly $10) to Rs. 1000 ($20).

Of course, you won’t get more than calling and messaging features but it could prove a boon for those consumers relying on Nokia Life Tools services who use it to know the prices of agricultural seeds, fertilizers, learn English etc.
