As rumored, Nintendo has finally confirmed the impending Wii price cut. Starting from September 27, Americans will be able to pick the world’s highest selling console for just $199 as compared to the previous price of $249.

As for Nintendo’s homeland, gamers will be able to buy Wii at a reduced price of Yen 20,000 (USD$218) from Yen 25,000 (USD$273). The price cut in the Japanese region will be effective from October 1.
