Kodak has announced a new pocket camcorder that will take the helm from its predecessor Zi6. Features-wise, the Zi8 beats the Flip UltraHD but it’s at par with Samsung’s HMX-U10 with few features here and there.

The Zi8 brings 1080p video recording, still images at 5MP, image stabilizer, face tracking tech, 2.5-inch LCD, SDHC slot, external mic jack and one-button uploads to YouTube or Facebook.

The Zi8 will come in range of colors from September 2009 for a retail price of $179.95.
