UK based Green PC maker, VeryPC has created a piece of software that will make environmentalists happy. A part of its Eco-Power Management tools, the PecoBOO turns off the screen as soon as the user turns away from the computer display. Magic? No. It actually uses the integrated webcam that discreetly tracks the user’s face at a regular interval and checks if the user is sitting in front of the display or not. In case, the user is not, PecoBOO switches off the display, goes into hibernation or sleeps, effectively saving some electricity and battery life too, if you’re working on your laptop.

There’s no download link available as of now but PecoBOO wants you to fill a small form.
