While Indians are getting a raw deal from the recently announced Vaio NW Series, Americans on the other hand get some hi-def goodness with the integrated Blu-ray drive, HDMI-out and a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 GPU, all starting from an affordable $880. Rest of the specs include 15.5-inch screen an Intel C2D 2.1GHz processor, 4GB RAM, up to 400GB hard drive, webcam, a “display off” button and up to 4 hours of battery life.

Sony is also selling a non Blu-ray NW notebook which starts from $800.
