Sony has announced a new camcorder that boasts decent features in a slim package. The compact HDR-TG5V device is capable to shoot videos in full HD resolution or if you need to click a still image, a 4MP sensor comes to your rescue.

It’s also got a 2.7-inch touchscreen LCD, Smile Shutter and Face Detection, GPS which automatically geotags each picture and 16GB internal memory to use it out of the box. Users can also expand the memory by inserting a MS Pro Duo card.

The camcorder will be available at all Sony retail stores and Sonystyle in May for around $1000.
