Acer Hornet nettop specs, release date leaked

Here’s some good news for those looking for a sub-$299 HTPC solution and also packed with decent computing features. According to the leaked info, Acer Hornet will playback full 1080p HD content over HDMI and will also come with a Wii-like Remote that will double up as a Media Center remote and a gaming controller.
Moving onto its computing prowess, the cheapest variant will feature an N230 processor, 1GB RAM, 80GB HDD and Vista Home Basic. On the other hand, the highest version gets the same processor but ups the RAM to 2GB, 160GB HDD, Wi-Fi and comes preinstalled with Vista Home Premium and the Boxshell Quickboot OS.
Digitimes is reporting that Hornet is destined to go official on April 8 in China.
