This marks a first for any ISP in India. Tata Tele has announced Power Launcher series wherein a user can get broadband speeds of up to 100Mbps. Of course, the word ‘up to’ has a significance over here because they are not exactly liable to give you the 100Mbps speed as promised. However, I guess they’ll be able to deliver more than Airtel’s 8Mbps speed, which is the fastest in India currently.

The service will be offered over Ethernet across Mumbai for Rs. 10,500 per month while students can avail a 10% discount. Don’t expect it to be an uncapped connection though.
