AMD outs 40nm ATI Radeon 4800 Series GPUs for laptops

AMD announced the world’s first 40nm based GPUs for notebooks. Based on 40nm fabrication means good graphics power on a smaller die and allows laptop companies to integrate discrete GPUs in a small notebook. The Radeon HD 4830 and Radeon HD 4860 are the first pair offering full 1080p playback, HDMI-out, DirectX 10.1 support, DisplayPort, CrossfireX, PowerXpress and PowerPlay power management tool.
The first 40nm 4800 series GPUs will be featured in Asus’ K series notebooks.
