It is a known fact that Apple retail stores let the Cupertino giant penetrate and increase its presence amongst the consumers. Now, Microsoft aims for the same result as they plan to open their retail stores across US under the leadership of ex-Walmart David Porter.

The stores will sell computers installed with Microsoft products as well as from other companies, striving to improve the PC buying experience of the customers. Microsoft will also have Gurus at the store which is actually the MS equivalent of Apple Geniuses who sits at the in-store Genius Bar.

Porter will etch out the possible locations, design and other things in the coming week.
