Motorola CEO: Microsoft Windows Mobile 7 coming in 2010

Motorola really can’t keep mum. First they spill out about Windows Mobile 6.5 hitting in 2009 and now Sanjay Jha confirms what most of us were waiting to hear from Microsoft’s mouth. In an earnings call, Jha said that Windows Mobile 7 will be coming out in 2010 and this year they’ll be concentrating on Android phones.
“As you know, Windows 6 series is available in 2009 and as compared to Android, we believe in 2009 Android is more competitive; more of our effort and focus in 2009 is going to Android, but in 2010 when Windows 7 will become available, we will then participate in a more focused way in Windows Mobile 7 in 2010,” Jha said.
Steve Ballmer will be there at the MWC this year to announce Windows Mobile 6.5, so we can possibly expect the dates for Windows Mobile 7 too.
