Here comes another creation from Philips, one of the biggest manufacturers of medical gadgets. They have created an intelligent pill or iPill which houses a microprocessor, battery, wireless information transmitter and a drug reserve to diffuse medication in case a need arises. The iPill quietly sits in the patient’s stomach and measures the level of acidity. It even has the ability to determine its location in the intestinal tract and can dispense drugs if it finds any discrepancy in the acidity level.

Philips believes that with iPill, one can keep a track on the digestive tracts and can also reduce the risk to get affected by illnesses like Crohn’s disease, colitis or colon cancer. iPill’s another feature is that it can measure the temperature inside the body which can be transmitted wirelessly to the receiver outside.
