Nokia’s expensive series 40 offering, the 8800 has got a facelift. The new 8800 Carbon Arte phone has been made with high quality materials like carbon fibre, titanium, polished glass and stainless steel. The phone is expected to be lighter in weight because of the use of carbon fibre as the main material while other materials are used to give an artistic effect to the phone. The phone will be pre-loaded with exclusive Carbon Arte wallpapers and ringtones. Other features which Carbon Arte boasts are turn-to-mute silencing which is done to silence incoming calls by turning the phone over, screen-side down and also tap-for-time wherein the user can tap the steel surface below the display twice and a clock appears on the screen.

On the technical front, 3G makes a nice inclusion in the snobbish device as also a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus. Display is an OLED one and the internal storage is jacked up to 4GB. The phone will hit the retail market somewhere in Q3 of this year and will be selling for Euros 1,100 (USD 1613).
