250km/litre car developed in India

The students from Rayat Institute of Engineering and IT Punjab, India have claimed to develop a solo car which can run 250 km/litre of petrol. Named as Wonder Car, this car will be taken to US next month for the world super-mileage competition.

It is the brainchild of seven students for which the R&D expenses amounted to Rs. 2.13 million (~USD50K). The Wonder Car runs on a 92cc engine and is reckoned to cost Rs. 5 Lakhs (~USD12K).
