Mobile Battery malfunction kills one person in China

Batteries form the most important part of any portable device. Due to its volatility, it is can prove lethal if it is kept or used under unsuitable conditions. And in a depressing incident in the Gansu province of China, a welder, Xiao Jinpeng was killed because the battery of his mobile phone exploded while he was working. The explosion broke the rib of the man which penetrated into his heart and finally succumbed to death on the hospital bed.

According to the report, he was using a Motorola phone and an inquiry has been initiated to look into the incident. If Motorola’s battery concludes to be faulty, they will obviously have to face the flak but will also question the quality of the batteries bundled by these handset manufacturers.
