Dell Inspiron 1501 AMD powered laptop

Dell has started selling AMD powered notebooks with its first offering Inspiron 1501. The notebook features a 15.4″ widescreen display and the price tag for the base model is pretty convincing too. For just $549 you get a 15.4″ WXGA screen, 1.8GHz Mobile AMD Sempron 3500+ processor, Windows XP Home, 512MB RAM, 60GB HDD, Wi-Fi, ATI RADEON Xpress1150 256MB GPU and a combo drive.
On the other hand, the model costing $859 upgrades to AMD Turion 64 Mobile Technology MK-36 processor, 1GB RAM, 80GB HDD, 8X DVD burner and a two year warranty while rest of the specs remaining the same.
