AMD and ATI have announced that they will be joining forces so as to create a “Processing Powerhouse”. The deal is valued at $5.4 billion which is subject to approval of shareholders of the company but both the boards have already approved it unanimously. Both the companies feel that they can give a good fight to their respective major competitors like Intel and nVidia after the merger.
