MindTree Consulting, an Indian firm has unveiled an analog integrated chip (IC) for handheld devices. The analog IC has intelligent charging capabilities for Lithium-ion batteries and is very small (see the inset).

They are currently developing it for an Asian semi-conductor company. Batteries play a major role in handheld devices apart from its features. And this chip installed in that handheld device will make it weigh less and have a longer battery life.
