Google Maps goes the Mobile way

The search engine giant, Google had introduced Google Maps a few months back. It enabled the users to see the detailed maps of certain countries like US, UK and overview maps of many other countries. Now to strengthen its base, Google has rolled out its service, Google Local (Beta) for mobile phones too.

After installing Google Local, users can get colorful, overhead views of a neighborhood areas. Though this service is like GPS, but most new cellphone works with Google Local as it is based on JAVA programming language. Google’s application and service is free, but users will need an Internet data plan from their cellphone service provider, which can add upto $10 to $25 to their monthly bills.
